Training and Facilitation for Staff Engagement, Retention and Wellbeing.
- Are you concerned with identifying and, more importantly, keeping the right people?
- Does your organisation need to be resilient in the face of continuous change?
- Would you like your staff to become more engaged?
- Do you want to increase the incidence of collaboration and innovation?
- Is stress a growing challenge in your workplace?
If these are issues you are facing then you would understand the importance of skilling your people, offering opportunities for development and creating a high-performance, low-stress environment. We specialise in helping create that sort of environment and developing your “psychological capital”. We provide training and facilitation around resilience, stress-management, change and innovation, to help build extraordinary workplaces.
It is a very competitive labour market. Generation X & Y want to have fun and for the gray workforce it has become more of a case of wanting employment rather than needing it - so it better be a great place to work.
There is a longer-term change occurring too - work used to be a source of pride and identity. Over the last 130 years it has changed to something we ‘endure’ in order to provide for our families. That is changing back and the real role of work is once again being recognised:
Not only does work provide income, it influences self-worth and status, it provides socialisation, it is the structure around which lives are organised and it facilitates opportunities for achievement and skill development [10]
If you want to have greater engagement you need to provide these sorts of opportunities. Here’s another tip:
Stop talking about engagement with your staff.
It’s a term much bandied about by CEOs and managers but it doesn’t mean much to staff. (Engaged - why would I want to get engaged? I’m already married!)
Instead try talking about happiness and watch their interest. Ask your staff what would make them happy at work and how can you create a happier environment for them. Engagement will follow.
Here’s a good example of how it works. A recent survey found that staff that are unhappy report that the cause is poor pay. Staff that are happy report that they’re happy because of their workplace relationships. When people are unhappy they seek higher salaries - but what really makes them happy at work is their relationships with colleagues. Can you see how improving workplace relationships would reduce wage pressures?
It’s just one of many interventions we can help you with to boost your bottom line AND the wellbeing of your staff. Contact us for more detail.
